Translators and Writers (2013-14)

Translation includes an obvious element of creative transformation; and yet its aim is to produce texts which are very like or even functionally identical to their sources.  Our series of discussions brought together translators and creative writers to explore this paradox, and hoped to throw new light on what is meant by fidelity and by creativity in translation.
